On 1 November 1964 the first Italian subway line opens in Milan. The new infrastructure brings a new idea of urban modernity in a city ready to embrace it. The design of the stations of Albini, Helg and Noorda is the new carrier of an exceptional identity. As an act of appropriation, Metrò furniture reinterpret the Milanese subway. Each component of the original design is ideally removed from its context and transformed into a one-material object, thus recreating a new domestic landscape.
